AIICA is an association with an extensive experience leading collaborative works with industries in the productive sectors, especially the tanning industry and associated technologies such as Environment, Chemistry and Biotechnology. As a result of this close relationship a large number of projects have been undertaken; in collaboration with other European research centres, alone, or on behalf of companies to whom AIICA helps in the search for funding R+D+I.

In accordance with their knowledge and challenges, the works developed by AIICA during recent years have been focused on improving production processes to become more competitive and sustainable, and solving the problems of their own activities, such as reducing pollutants, waste minimization, reuse of products (inside or outside the generating industry) or the development of new materials from wastes.
