NANOPOLYTOX
NANOPOLYTOX (Toxicological Impact of nanomaterials derived from processing, weathering and recycling of polymer nanocomposites Used in Various industrial applications) is a European project framed in the call FP7 NMP-2009-1.3-1. The main objective of the project is to assess the potential impact in health and environment posed by nanomaterials present in polymeric nanocomposites throughout the life cycle. This study will collect and generate information on the impact of these nanomaterials in the various stages of their life cycle (synthesis, processing, use, recycling and/or end treatment) as nanoadditives in polymeric matrices. Finally, this project will also provide technological solutions for the recycling of nanomaterials identified as non-toxic and final processing of nanomaterials identified as toxic.
NANOPOLYTOX, launched in May 2010 and three years' duration, is led by LEITAT Technological Center and has partners in Denmark, Spain, France, Greece and Italy.
